Setting up Android Studio, ADT and Eclipse

Setup android with android studio

To setup android with android studio simply go to http://developers.android.com and under the tools section you will find "Download  Android Studio and SDK Tools" click on that or click here to download. It will download the setup of android studio then install it and give the path for SDK and workspace preferably the default one. Now you are good to go, you can create your projects with studio.

 

Setup by ADT

It is the simplest technique to install required softwares for android application. It includes:

  • Eclipse IDE
     
  • Android SDK
     
  • Eclipse Plugin

 

If you download the ADT from android site, you don't need to have eclipse IDE, android SDK and eclipse Plugin because it is already included in ADT bundle.

 

By setup eclipse manually

The list of software required to setup android for eclipse IDE manually.

  • Install the JDK.
     
  • Download and install the Eclipse for developing android application.
     
  • Download and Install the android SDK.
     
  • Intall the ADT plugin for eclipse.
     
  • Configure the ADT plugin.
     
  • Create the AVD.
     
  • Create the hello android application.
